Report a Business

Tell the Authority about a suspected breach of the Consumer Fairness and Safety Act 2026.

Before you report

If you believe a business has misled you, sold you an unsafe product, used unfair contract terms, or refused a repair, refund or cancellation you are entitled to, you can report it to the Authority.

What happens next

The Authority may investigate, request information or documents, and carry out inspections. Before any compliance notice or civil penalty is issued, the business concerned is given an opportunity to respond (Section 5B). Where appropriate, the Authority works with specialist regulators to avoid duplicate action for the same conduct.

How to report

Use the Contact page to submit a report. Please include as much detail as possible: the business's name, what happened, when, and any supporting documents.
